Twenty One Pilots

Twenty One Pilots are now known all around the world. But most people just know them for their music, so why not tell their story

Tyler Joseph

Tyler Joseph, born on December 1st, 1988 in Colobus, Ohio. He grew up with 5 other people, his dad, mom, brothers Zack, Jay, and Madison. His dad was a Principal and a basketball coach at Worthington Christian High School. His mom was a math teacher.He didn't go to a public school until he was 14 years old and in those 14 years he was homeschooled. He always liked singing and playing music,but wasn't sure it was the way to go. He played the piano,bass, and self taught himself how to play ukelele. He was focused on sports to get him into college becasue his grades weren't the best option for his college. Although he got on his high school team and played in baseball and basketball, he still sang everywhere he went. He always liked music though and then when he was accepted into a college he was more open to music. He started the band Twenty One Pilots with his brothers and he would go out to the local bar and perform. The brothers left the band and tyler needed a drummer and so he found Josh Dun.

Josh Dun

Josh Dun, born on June 18, 1988, in Colombus, Ohio, grew up with his mom, dad, Abigail Dun(sister), Ashley Dun(sister), and Jordan Dun (brother). As a kid he wasn't aloud to listen to a lot of music because his family was very religious. He would sneak out and go to the nearest recording store and ask the most tattoed guy what albums to listen to and the guy recomended Green Day. He started this whole process when he was 13 years old. He would listen to the music and try to follow along with the rythmn and when he went to school one day he showed the school his skills. He soon integrated in a band called house of heroes. They were successful for a minority so because they were doing not so well he got out of the band to help Tyler out and since then he and him have been bestfriends.

Twenty One Pilots

Since they both have been together since 2007. Tyler and Josh have been making music together and speaking through music to their fans... the clique. They played at a local bar and colleges, but then they hit mainstream and were signed to Atlantic Records and then by a much larger band record, Fueled by Ramen. They released their first mainstream album in 2009, Twenty One Pilots. They didn't do so well on this album and soon dropped a second album called Vessel. Vessel did so well that they landed on the radio. They soon dropped an album in 2015, called Blurryface and it sold out amazingly. Tyler and Josh did not expect that to happen. They are currently on tour , The Emotional ROADSHOW, selling out shows and performing on stages. Their fans are called the clique and Tyler says many times that he appreciates them. They are in session of releasing a new album either 2017 or 2018. They have covered songs from all genres like soft rock, alternative, soft metal, and incorperated some of their ideas into it.
